With all thoughts, sensations and concepts about what you are dissolving in sound, quickly and with no reference or idea, return to your own Silence, the simple awareness from which all arises. The Field of no coming and going. Here we live free in a wide open endless beginning.

Sound arising from our nature instantly liberates us from all thoughts, concepts, confusion and suffering. These thoughts and feelings arise and give the appearance of unhappiness. They simply are not you. This sound appears to begin from in front of you, but instantly becomes you, your simple nature, Beingness and Awareness.
Allowing that to take over your experience, everything that seems to trouble you dissolves. Rest in your own nature, free of suffering, discontent and trouble.
In this video, Prasant brings in a famous composition of Saint Thyagaraja, a revered composer of South Indian Classical music. Please note: the following has nothing whatsoever to do with Saint Thyagaraja’s intended meaning in the composition nor is it any kind of translation, analysis or commentary. I thank you in advance for understanding this. Here, rather than rendering or commenting on the composition, we go into a spontaneous contemplation through Music and Silence on the first two words of the composition alone, Teliyaleru Rama, which literally mean “[I] don’t know, Rama.”
This is an invitation for us to realize that, in fact, we don’t know. When this is seen, the mind returns to its Source in the Unknown. The mind lets go of its constant attempt to know some thing through thought and rests in what can never be known through the mind but can be felt and realized to be our Self. This is simply the Unknown. Resting continuously and permanently in the non state of the Unknown brings the resolution to all questions and confusion along with freedom. This brings no conflict in day to day life. If it seems to do so, notice that you are probably no longer resting in the Unknown but have in some way, perhaps subtle, embraced a concept or thought about your experience.

In this brief, spur of the moment video Prasant shares the deepest reason we are all here: to remember and realize our Nature and live That in freedom. This is not in opposition to our daily lives in any way. We live busy day to day lives, so it seems that we need a reminder regularly and maybe a little motivation to rekindle and remember this simple truth of why we are here.

In this video, Prasant talks about the common underlying function that all pointers, aphorisms or teachings for Enlightenment, Self Realization and Liberation have in common. Once this is understood within, you will no longer have any confusion about your path, Guru, or what teachings to follow as everything you encounter will naturally become part of your path in one seamless unfolding of Truth. This leads to a more effortless, free way of being and the necessary openness that allows for Enlightenment to manifest without delay or struggle.

To best utilize the video, completely relax and rest. Notice and rest in the Silence. As the sound arises, notice and feel the sound, letting it completely fill the entire field of awareness. During each silence in the music, you may notice you are slipping into deeper and deeper Silence and peace. That Silence, just simple awareness, free of any condition, thought or idea is our nature and is the Source of all. Simply continue to rest as This that you have discovered effortlessly to be the essence and the completeness of what you are. Please continue to sit for the last minute after the music as stopped and rest in Silence completely during that time.

In this video, Prasant discusses the truth of Sound being not different from Silence. Simply by noticing Prasant’s music and voice in the video, it is easy to see that first there is a background of silence, then the sound arises. Finally, the sound again dissolves into the silence.
The Source of every sound is the Silence from which it came.
The field of the entire manifestation is happening in a similar way. Sound is an infinitely subtle vibration that manifests from silence and it is quite commonly known that all that exists is nothing but varying intensities of sound vibrations.
If we feel and awaken this insight by beginning with the realm of sound and music, we can easily recognize the Reality, the Silence that is the ultimate Source of all that is, and rest in That as what we have always been. This allows for permanent freedom in Being.
For us to experience this, Prasant also goes into the example of the ocean and waves as a way to intuitively grasp this understanding. There is also an opening and closing of raga Mohanam on the saxophone to facilitate returning and resting in our own Silence and Peace.
The last section focuses only on sound with Arunachala as a visual.
In this video, Prasant shares that going beyond death is actually easy. Though it has been said that such transcendence is very difficult or impossible, it is actually easy. This is due to the fact that what we really are was never born and doesn’t die. It is deathless by nature. We are, in fact, deathless.
Simply see that the form of a body seems to have a definite life span but the Source Beingness of it does not. This body was not there in deep sleep. Everything that is arising in the Source, which is the missing part of ourselves we usually forget about due to obscuration by thoughts and concepts, is being birthed and passing away instant by instant. This includes thoughts arising and falling. Simply allowing the clinging to these momentary thoughts about what is happening to cease naturally, we rest in our eternal and always beyond death nature. Since this is what we are in actuality, it is very easy.
Further examples are detailed briefly in the video to give you more certainty and clarity that this is the case for you.

In this video, Prasant highlights the fact that a shift or awakening that opens you into your own nature does not have to happen while you are doing something particular, like meditating, but could come at any moment. In every moment of the day, the opportunity and possibility is fully present.
It is also not that you need wait for the special time when a single shift may occur. It could be countless subtle shifts that happen in many different situations that allow you to settle finally in the Reality and be free of the mind or any concept about it.
So be ready for it at any time by just noticing your experience and being what you are. Have fun!
There is a common issue that many face on an almost daily basis today: boredom. I see this with people going to school and college, but it remains with adults as well. Let’s not forget boredom’s good buddies: frustration and irritation, among others.
All three of these are basically an expression of resistance to our arising experience. The arising experience is perfect in nature, however the mind content consisting of various thoughts that is overlaid upon it suggests otherwise. It could be sitting through a long class, holding a crying child on a flight or perhaps waiting in a long line at the post office or sitting in traffic. First we need to notice that the boredom, frustration or irritation etc. is in most cases coming from our thought content, or at least our concept of what should be happening right now.
In some cases, it could be a useful call to action. Maybe you need to do something different than what you are doing at the moment. But in most cases, you are probably doing something that you either can’t get out of or maybe have even signed up for yourself in some way. Take a moment to contemplate and remember some situations that have been like this in your own life.
Now, when you are in this situation or bring up a situation like this in your memory and experience that feeling, inquire: Is the part of me that enjoys experiences here with me now? Is the aspect of my awareness, a beautiful core attribute of my own awareness that is enjoyment itself…is that still here with me or has it gone? When I am enjoying anything at all, whether it is my favorite music, a delicious meal, shopping, maybe playing a favorite video game etc., that enjoyment is happening within me. I alone am enjoying it. The essence of that happiness and enjoyment is fundamentally in me alone. That is joy. Now that I am in a boring or irritating situation, has that awareness that was joyful and happy and the awareness that is experiencing boredom different or the same?
Simply by inquiring into this, something will happen. Something will shift. We know this because the feeling of boredom, frustation, etc. is only coming and going within our awareness and is mostly due to thoughts we are clinging to of either not wanting to experience something or wishing we were doing something else. When that compulsion is challenged via this specific inquiry, immediately the Source Awareness that is consisting of simple Presence, Peace, Joy and Freedom is available and is glad to reveal itself.
