Going Beyond Death Is Easy

How easy is it really, to go beyond death? 🙂

In this video, Prasant shares that going beyond death is actually easy. Though it has been said that such transcendence is very difficult or impossible, it is actually easy. This is due to the fact that what we really are was never born and doesn’t die. It is deathless by nature. We are, in fact, deathless.

Simply see that the form of a body seems to have a definite life span but the Source Beingness of it does not. This body was not there in deep sleep. Everything that is arising in the Source, which is the missing part of ourselves we usually forget about due to obscuration by thoughts and concepts, is being birthed and passing away instant by instant. This includes thoughts arising and falling. Simply allowing the clinging to these momentary thoughts about what is happening to cease naturally, we rest in our eternal and always beyond death nature. Since this is what we are in actuality, it is very easy.

Further examples are detailed briefly in the video to give you more certainty and clarity that this is the case for you.

For example, does it inherently take effort to be a man or a woman? Who is it that would want to go beyond death? (These are elaborated in the video)

Prasant opens and closes the video with a brief raga Kapi on the saxophone. The image at the end of the video is Arunachala at Tiruvannamalai, India. Enjoy the freedom, peace and joy/fun that this Realization brings. 🙂

Truth Is Like The Parents You’ve Always Had

In this video, Prasant likens the effortless nature of being who you are, Truth/Silence/Beingness Itself, to the fact that it takes no effort to be the child of your parents on a fundamental level. Simply by being born and existing, you automatically are the child of whoever your parents happen to be. It takes no effort and there is no need to regain the status of being this as no matter what could happen you would always remain the child of your parents by your very existence. Even if they passed away, or you ran away from home, or whatever it may be… The DNA, and all the blueprints of your parents and ancestors, perhaps, exist in you and created the body. They permeate every inch of your body. On the basic physical level, this could not be removed, even if you tried.

Similarly, the Self, the Truth of what you are, is the basic foundation of our existence that cannot be lost or regained. Our very nature always has the Infinite as its Source and Reality as its nature. It is effortless to be the Self, because you are and have always been the Self. Like a runaway child, you may have denied your identity with This. Later, you recognize it is your nature, always. How easy, how joyful! You can celebrate, because nothing could ever take this away. Even being in the so called mind, cannot take you away. If you change your name and runaway, you would still be the child of your parents. If you think you are the mind and identify with your thoughts and run into many problems and frustrations, you still are the Self. You are the Self right now. This is absolutely true. This is your birthright and you simply recognizing this is returning Home and is freedom.

Absorbing this and understanding this within is contemplation and dissolving of confusion. Recognizing this truth as infallible and indestructible in your experience is awakening. Returning to your abode in Freedom and living freely with this imperturbable Knowingness is Unbroken Realization.

Be happy. 🙂

True Independence

Here in the U.S., on July 4th, we celebrate Independence Day. We are lucky in many ways.

What is real independence, though? Is independence from another nation’s imperial rule enough? Do all people in this country feel free?

What is real, true freedom? “Financial freedom” is not it, though it is helpful to live. “Success” is not it. Many have achieved success but are not happy or free.

True freedom only comes when you are free from your own mind. It’s really that simple.

When you are free from obsessiveness about anything, be it politics, religion, technology, health, the stock market, or perhaps just “making it,” you are free. When you are free from dissociating, resisting or ignoring those same things, you are free.

When good and bad dissolve into only That which arises always, eternally, you are free.

When it is seen that there is no evil and there never was, you are free.

When all the confusion about different people, cultures, customs, backgrounds, traditions, and everything disappears into a perfect unity that was right under your nose all the time, you are free.

When it is 100% clear without a shadow of a doubt that you are not doing anything, but that everything is already being done for you, as you and through you, you are free.

Rather than only “one nation under God,” when it is seen that the entire manifestation is actually only One Nation completely and fully permeated by God alone with not an atom of differentiation or separation, you are free.

When it is continuously clear that you are already free and always have been, completely independent of what things look like, you have true freedom and independence.

This is our real inheritance as children of Nature. This is your real birthright to claim. This is freedom.

One Step to the Supreme

How many steps to the Supreme?

Actually, there are no steps. You are the Supreme, the Self, the Infinite, freedom itself.

But if you still do not feel that way, if that is not your experience yet, there is at least one step.

Take it. Resolve to take it. Resolve to be free asap. Don’t wait any longer.

Just be (“Summa Ire”). Keep quiet. That’s all.

Don’t follow around the activities of your so called mind. Don’t even try to not follow.

Just be yourself. Not becoming this or doing that. Just be exactly as you are right now. Really, that is all. It really is.

You are already doing it right now…see? 🙂 You ARE it!

Or…

When a difficult (or pleasant perhaps) situation or series of thoughts or emotions arise, immediately inquire who is experiencing it.

The experiencer is the mind. Rest in the space, awareness, presence, silence that comes forward.

Or…

See that every experience is arising in awareness. There is no experience of any kind (thoughts, emotions, perceptions etc.) or any object (person, place or thing) without your awareness being there first.

Rest in the awareness. Just simple awareness. Nothing special or sparkly. There is no mind and there never was. Just natural experience, endlessly arising by itself from itself. It simply is.

Or…

If you want to know God, experience God, you see that if it is really God, than nothing can be apart from God, even slightly.

Everything is God. This is the truth. Everything is God. That means every object prior deemed pure or impure, auspicious or not, intelligent or foolish, the worst offender you can imagine in your view, is quite literally God.

Finally, it is seen you are God and “Wait, that means I am God?! Oh no, that can’t be” says the mind. Oh yes. So it is. Even that thought just now, was God. So is the screen you are reading. The field is completely leveled.

Since everything is God, there is no need to refer to it in any way, name or form. That is why it is often referred to as simply That…or maybe This. Or anything you like. This is how an atheist and an ardent devotee of God in any form can realize the same Truth. It is the only Reality. Silence and Peace remain, simply and easily as it always was. All dreamed up divisions dissolve once and for all.

Or…

Seeing that all activities in the universe are done by a power that we could never figure out with the mind (did a human mind design the big bang? No.), surrender completely, let go into, dissolve in that power that does everything anyways, whether we think we are doing something or not.

Right now, not later. Remember…one step.

Digestion happens by itself, breathing and just about everything else. If you think it otherwise, you are in the mind! Just see.

If you trying to figure how to do all the things you want (or dont want) to do, don’t! Like Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi says, it would be like carrying all your luggage on your head while on a train. Put everything down and relax. Total surrender means the mind is out of a job. The mind might say no, but pay him/her no heed. You are not the mind. The mind is not your boss. It was just pretending to be. It was a poor mid level manager anyways. You know, the kind that pretends to do all the work but doesn’t really do anything. It just wants to keep showing up and making your head hurt.

He might still get coffee at the office but he won’t be causing any havoc anymore. All his noisy ramblings have no bearing on what actually ends up happening. All the work still gets done, even better. Seeing and feeling this, there is finally peace.

There are as many ways and nuances to return to freedom as there are people. These examples are direct. It can feel like jumping off a cliff for the mind. But you are definitely safe.

When you realize you have ended up far away from home and you can get back home in one step, wouldn’t you want to?

When you come back Home you realize you have always been here. You have always been free. You already had everything you ever wanted and everything you need to do has been done for you.

Now, simply enjoy the view.

That which you are is Unknown

Do you ever make plans? Do you ever make plans and find out they didn’t turn out the way you had planned? Perhaps things didn’t turn out the way you wanted. Months, perhaps years of planning go into a project or an idea or maybe even a career. Maybe you have planned your entire life out. Somehow things don’t click. All the data analysis, all the advisors, all the thought leaders and think tanks…all the research and all the investment. Years of investment. Yet somehow, circumstances turn in a direction no one could have predicted. In your mind it appeared one way, but now it’s different.

This doesn’t have to be a bad thing, of course. You could be walking down the street and out of the blue you see your best friend from 35 years ago. You lost touch with this person, but here they are! You didn’t get that job you wanted, but somehow you end up at another job, and it’s even better than you expected. You search for a home to move into for over a year, and finally you give up and end up getting the next house. After an exhausting day in the heat, when you are just about to drop to the ground, someone hands you a cool drink and it’s the best glass of water you have ever had. And of course, yes, many times people make plans and they do go off smoothly. Nothing wrong with planning.

Of course, if you are honest and look at your experience and what you have experienced, you will agree that it is impossible to predict exactly what will happen. No one knows. Look and see for yourself. Even the great prophets and sages do not know. The astrologers don’t know. Keep in mind, I am not discrediting them. Predictions can be made and they may very well come true. It has definitely happened and many live by such predictions. But at the root of what is really happening, the fundamental truth remains.

This need to know what will happen only comes from identification with the thinking mind. This addiction of needing to know the result of what will happen indeed causes unnecessary suffering. The thinking mind is always somewhere else. It is never HERE. It is never NOW. Therefore, it is already too late. Whenever something good happens spontaneously, it is not thanks to the mind. The mind is already late to the party. It is like the sports commentators at a big game. All it can do is say GOAL! That’s about it. It will, of course, be glad to take credit for whatever has already happened.

For example, no one knows whether the next breath will come. Sure, you can say according to the latest medical research, or other external sources, it is likely that…but in truth, if you look and see with clarity, it is obvious that you do not know that you will have the next breath.

Take a moment to contemplate this deeply by observing the in an out breaths with awareness. Leaving aside all ideas of what might happen in the future as a fool’s errand, stay here right now, with the breath. Just be with the breath and enjoy its soothing, intoxicating movement and pulsation. A large chunk of your fears, worries, doubts and past pain is literally falling away with each breath. The breath is sweeping the floor of the mind. It is clearing the way. There is no failure. There is nothing wrong. Clarity is arising.

In this stillness, you can see how all thoughts and experiences come later. YOU were here first and you still are. You always will be. The mind can only pretend to obscure. But your real nature is the source of everything you experience and think. Sink into that Source and feel a profound rest. There is nothing to find. Anything that can be found is only passing phenomena. It is fodder for the mind. It is a passing experience. The mind wants to know. But you are Unknown.

Having felt and clearly seen this, anything is possible. You can plan or not plan, predict or not predict. It no longer matters. This here now has everything you will ever need. And you can make to-do lists and you can research and you can consult astrologers again. If things work out or they don’t, it no longer matters. Everything is already worked out.

This is peace.
